Situation Report Sudan: Aircraft at El Obeid Airfield

The Satellite Sentinel Project continuously monitors points of concern and strategic importance in Sudan and along the Sudan/South Sudan border. A new situation report released today shows Sudan Armed Forces, or SAF, aircraft at El Obeid airfield in North Kordofan state, Sudan. El Obeid is within striking range of the Nuba Mountains region of South Kordofan state, as well as refugee camps across the border in South Sudan.

Aircraft like the Antonovs shown in this imagery are SAF's weapon of choice and the primary means of civilian displacement in the Nuba Mountains.

Sudan Armed Forces Implicated in Video Captured by Their Own Drone

A new British documentary film presents graphic visual evidence that the Sudanese government has committed crimes against humanity by bombarding civilians in the Nuba Mountains of South Kordofan, Sudan. Surprisingly, the most irrebuttable visual evidence comes from the Sudan Armed Forces, or SAF, in the form of video captured by a drone flown by SAF over apparent civilian areas in advance of bombardment. The evidence convincingly shows that the Government of Sudan is operating Iranian drones.

"Unreported World: Terror in Sudan" will premiere on the UK's Channel 4 on Friday, April 13, and will be available on YouTube the following day. The trailer has just been posted.

According to the latest account from AFP, U.N. sources observed Antonov bombers and fighter jets flying around the state capital of Kadugli, following the shelling of SPLA positions by the northern army since Tuesday.
